Academic Year September 2010

Please arrange to arrive in the UK by Friday 1 October 2010, to attend the Orientation Programme for New Students. The Academic Session begins on Monday 4 October 2010. If you think that for some reason you will be unable to meet this start date then please contact the Regional Office to discuss possible deferral to the next available start date. It is important to note that late arrival causes severe difficulties for new students and the University does not permit them to start later than the end of the first teaching week. General Conditions

Middlesex University will only accept students who have an ‘Unconditional Offer’ for a course of their choice. You will not be accepted on any programme, if you have a ‘Conditional Offer’ and you have not fulfilled the specified conditions before reaching Middlesex University, or you arrive after the date given on your Offer Letter. On joining the University, you must not have any objection to the University divulging information about your result and performance, should your parents/guardians express desire to know about them.

Course of Study

You should have sent your application to a Middlesex University Office in India, only after you are sure of the course you wish to study at Middlesex University. You will not be allowed to change your course of study once you are admitted to or have received an Offer for the course of your choice.

Tuition Deposit

To confirm your place on a course of study and to receive an Unconditional Offer from Middlesex University you are required to make a deposit of 50% of your Tuition Fee in the form of a Banker’s Draft made in favour of ‘Middlesex University’, payable in London. The deposit should be sent to a Middlesex University Office in India by Saturday 24 April 2010.

The first installment of the tuition fee should be paid at the time of admission, and the remaining 50% should be paid either at the time of enrollment or according to the University Fee Payment Policy.

REGIONAL AWARDS CANNOT BE COUNTED TOWARDS THE FIRST 50% FEE PAYMENT. IF YOU HAVE BEEN GRANTED A REGIONAL AWARD, THE AWARD AMOUNT WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THE SECOND INSTALLMENT OF THE TUITION FEES TO BE PAID IN LONDON.

Accommodation Clause

If you wish to stay in the University’s Halls of Residence, you will have to apply for Accommodation on an Accommodation Application Form which is available at the Middlesex Offices in India. Please submit this along with a banker’s draft of £200 payable to ‘Middlesex University’, in London, at Middlesex University’s Offices in India, to confirm your place.

Rooms will be allocated to you on a first-come-first serve basis, and only before your departure to the UK. The Accommodation deposit of £200 is a caution deposit, and you will be required to pay room rent for the term, when you reach the University.

If you do not need accommodation in the University’s Halls of Residence, you will have to make your own arrangements for your stay, for the duration of the course. This will need to be done before your departure to the UK.

The accommodation deposit of £200 is non-refundable in the event that you have obtained a UK Students’ Visa. It would be refundable only if you are unsuccessful in obtaining a Visa and after you have given proof of your Visa Rejection, by showing the Visa Refusal Stamp on your passport to a Middlesex University Office in India.

Refund Clause: Terms & Conditions

» The 50% Tuition Fee Deposit is non-refundable to those who are successful in obtaining a UK Students’ Visa.

All refunds will only be made to the student by the University’s Regional Office in India.

» The Deposit is non-refundable, if the student fails to enroll at the University in London after getting the Visa.

» Once a student has obtained the UK Students’ Visa, and arrives in the UK to study at Middlesex University but fails to enroll at the University, the 50% deposit will NOT be refunded. The Regional Office will inform the Visa Office concerned of this development. It will then be left to the Visa Office to cancel the student’s Visa.

» The University will not refund the Deposit, if the student decides not to join the course or choose to join any other University or follow any other course or vocation at any other Institution.
