Studying at Middlesex has helped me to explore myself, it has helped me to develop my communication skills at a stage where I can stand and talk with big shots in the market, putting my ideas across. Studying at Middlesex has broadened my thinking, earlier I used to think for one solution but now I think for many other ways to get quick and better solutions.
It has also given me a good real time experience and international exposure. Tutors at Middlesex University are very highly qualified and experienced. They give you good real time examples to learn and the course is structured in such a way to give students, real experience, working on a project related on current market.

On reflection when I look back at myself today, I am surprised at the knowledge gained and skills that I have acquired in the past one year studying at Middlesex University. The course content has been very well prepared by experienced Professors. The guidance given by module tutors has been very helpful.
The supportive administration staff, the resource section, the library section are 24 x 7 in attendance and I think I cannot expect anything better.
In addition I have had the opportunity to make friends across the globe, each an expert in his chosen field. We have had very productive discussions leading to and developing our teamwork capabilities.
I look forward to an extension of the wonderful experience this year.

I am working as Recruitment Manager and also doing some contractual assignments in Training and Development.
I am feeling overwhelmed to get this opportunity of sharing my experience about the University and I am in flash back. I joined the University on 28 January 2008. January is the icy cold month in London with drizzling.
I remember, I reached College and sat on the corner bench of quadrangle (it’s an area to freak out) for the full day. That was like a dreamland for me or a place beyond my imagination. The words, which can describe the place, are a place is full of dreams, life, passion, innovations, thoughts, and a mirror of global society. I was very sure that I took the best decision of my life to join the University.
First day of class was a wonderful experience. First impression was that I would be with the people from all over the globe with different cultures, values and mindsets. It was amazing and very exciting. After the first class I was very clear that reading those thick theory books (what we do in India) is not going to work anymore.
Now it will be loads of innovation, creating and sharing my own ideas with justifications. There is no more a class where lecturers speak and students listen, it is a class where you have to participate at every point of time. Lots of assignments and the fear of plagiarism in mind made me a little worried. First assignment was like a nightmare but fortunately it went off well and after that I started enjoying this whole group project scenario. But it did make a person I am proud of being now.
Some skills which I leant from the University have become an undividable part of my life either personal or professional - Strategic Thinking, Reflection on your Actions, Critical Approach, Continuous Professional and Personal Development.
I actually want to thank Middlesex University for giving me an opportunity to understand my own strengths and weakness and helping me in achieving my goals.

Middlesex University is a vibrant place for education. It provides you with a cutting edge lead from other students studying at other Universities, because of high standards of education and discipline. Experienced faculty members mostly PhD Degree holders along with a long career in teaching and in their field of specialization provide every individual an opportunity to learn from the very best. Guest lectures including top businessmen, artists, IT professional and scholars give an enlightening insight into the subject. Education enhancing facilities like library are highly modernized to give easy and wide range of essential books, articles, magazines etc. Electronic version of library makes it so easy to look for books in library and most articles are available in PDF format giving an option to access them from anywhere not just inside library.
Middlesex is not only about studies it is an overall experience of different cultures, different nationalities. To encourage students to know more about each other University has its own restaurants and bars where one can enjoy the company of fellow international students. As said all work and no play makes jack a dull boy, Middlesex University has made sure that their students get a high quality sports experience. Like any other University, Middlesex also has University teams for different sports which take part in inter University matches. Along with sports there is a gym to let you keep your stamina up to the mark.
Most importantly it is located outside the main city making it much easier to access from public transport and also provides a peaceful environment for studies. A thrilling experience starts the moment you enter the University called - Middlesex Experience.

I have just finished my Post graduation from Middlesex University and have recently returned. Middlesex University has been an experience and certainly has given more than what I had expected. The course has been designed in a way that it is not only theoretical but also guides to apply practically. More than learning the definitions it was about understanding and applying it in practice and for this purpose we had lots of presentations, small projects, group work etc. Also the exams were more of case studies and giving a solution to the problem quoted. We also had to do compulsory internship for minimum period of 3 months and maximum period of 6 months and a dissertation based on the organization.
The internship gave an excellent exposure to work as a HR professional. The degree is accredited and offers a graduate membership of CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel Management). The professors at Middlesex University were always eager to help and would give time to students. The University also provided excellent resources to learn and as a student member of CIPD we would get to attend the branch meeting where a senior HR professional would address the meeting and we also got an opportunity to interact with the professionals in the field.
I was working as a HR professional before I joined Middlesex University to pursue my course and it has given me a very good understanding about the profession. I can say I am more equipped to face challenges in work and have ingrained quality professionalism.
Middlesex University certainly gives a great global exposure professionally and personally, the courses are more in touch with the present demand of the profession, and an experience, which makes me want to go back to Middlesex to do my PhD.

Studies in Middlesex were completely different to what I was accustomed in India. On a wider perspective it’s a lot more interactive, filled with things like group works, presentations which gradually does make you a lot confident not only in your studies and coursework but also in life. I am studying IT with Networking and the faculties and facilities which I have encountered in the past 2 years have been exceptional, be it the CISCO labs which gives you a hands-on practical experience regarding servers and routers or Human Computer Interaction workshops everything is top-notch. A special mention to the Sheppard Library which is my favorite place to hang around while I am in the University. The books and resources without a doubt are up to date and most reference materials, equipments are readily available and to be honest while in India I never thought even basic building like library and classrooms can be so high-tech.
I have been lucky that the scholarship guarantees me a place in the Usher Halls of Residence which is just opposite the main Campus in Hendon. The best thing about the Halls are you get an opportunity to befriend different people from such diverse backgrounds. It is fun socializing in the Halls be in-house partying or cooking. Staying near to the University, also enabled me to be a part of the vibrant University. Night life which takes place in the forum. The new gym in particular is really useful. The University has been blessed with a real tennis court, I have had few beginners lessons on it last year.
The reality show not only gave me the opportunity but also changed my life drastically. To conclude it up, I would say I have really grown up during these two years at Middlesex University. Two years ago I envisaged myself studying in some ace Indian Techno College, but I have nothing to repent since I have been here.
My placement year at Middlesex University has exceeded my expectations. I am learning a lot of interesting things in my field of studies as well as in most other fields in IT. I also got the opportunity to have hands on experience in the production of various media materials from designing banners to web design and from filming to final editing of videos. My work experience will definitely make me stand out of the crowd and give me more confidence in achieving higher grades in my final year and have a bright career."

I chose to do a Masters in Education Management to complement my teaching. I chose Middlesex University because of its great reputation for quality education along with a diverse student experience. The Course was really exciting and challenging at the same time. The teaching environment with all the modern facilities was very attractive as well. The professors' academic and professional experience was really inspiring, since they would rather consider us as their colleagues than their students.
The way the Course was conducted by the professors was really motivating and made the dialogue and exchanges between us more productive and of mutual interest. The Course provided myself with an important base from which I was able to develop my dissertation from, the professors were always available for feedbacks, comments and to answer any questions. Through the assistance from the University career centre I began teaching part time at various schools throughout London and after the completion of my studies I have been asked to return as a full time teacher at one of the high schools I had worked for previously.
London is a very vibrant city to live in; there is something to do always. With a multicultural population one can feel like you have travelled all over the world simply by visiting the various areas of London. I enjoyed all aspects of the University life at Middlesex, I hope to return in a few years time to work towards obtaining a PhD Degree.

Middlesex, I really enjoyed my days in Middlesex, different culture, people, learning method, support from lecturers, etc., I cannot bring my entire memories in this one page. Yet I would like to share experience as much as possible with you.
I never wrote anything about more than 500 words in my life time before coming to Middlesex University. On joining, I was asked to do several coursework and slowly I gained confidence and my final dissertation was 20000 words which I could able to produce. Library is one place we could never forget, such a wonderful collection of books. With so many desktops in all floors, Middlesex provided IT support to complete our projects, coursework, etc on time. We could not have completed with good grades without help of this facility.
Most important lesson I learnt was that hard work and determination alone will not get you result unless planning and timely implementation is not done. Continues profession development (CPD) workshops helped us a lot on improving ourselves.
Middlesex University has given us lot of opportunities in solving practical problems by giving us enough case studies, small or big. Most of the time we could able to link theory with practical problems. I also understood learning in school is different from practical experience, I could find learning method in Middlesex is designed to give us more of practical knowledge.
Three days residential program helped us to understand people from different country, their culture, how people differ from other place. Initially it was bit difficult to work together. After our three days session, as a team from different countries we could able to achieve a lot. It was like sharing knowledge between us.
I had an opportunity to work with people who had more work experience than me who shared their knowledge. I can say that I went to Middlesex with 9 years of work experience and came back with 50 years of experience.
I was allowed to write exams in regional office upon my request as I could not able to travel back with my 15 days baby. I appreciate Middlesex for their flexible approach, to help us continue in completing our education.

It is my pleasure to have been asked to write something about Middlesex University London. My words seem to be falling short when I start speaking about the University that I have selected to pursue education from. I compared loads of Universities before making up my mind, but when I stepped in at Middlesex University Counselling Office Mumbai, I really felt there was someone who cared for me.
It was the day when I decided that I would want to give the threads of my future in safe hands. Mrs Bacha was always very caring and promising, In fact she believes in each and every student that she recruits, she works with a very strong and efficient team. We can not neglect the hard work done by Ms Sneha as I have heard positive about her from lot of students, good show Sneha.
I agree that the basic plus point that Middlesex University got is that - The University Campus is based in London. Being that the fact the student coming here is always exposed to the climate here. Is exposed to all the market opportunities and can well exhibit him/her in terms of the experience skills they got in relevant field. If we tend to select a University outside London, then at the time of getting a job student tend to be nervous as they are not adjusted to the surrounding. Here I totally agree that Middlesex University really gave me the platform to go global with the skills and experience, which I have gained. On the other hand when I did my MA Marketing Communications, now I can see that sky is my limit and it is in our hands to shape our future. I am thankful to Middlesex University for making me able to achieve height in my life.
I appreciate Ms Poonam's (Counselor@EDWISE International) effort, which motivated me for UK study and then I got connected with Shakil and finally with Mrs Bacha. I consider Middlesex University and its staff as my extended family. I am always ready to motivate the students who decide to take up education in Middlesex University, London.

Before going on to the academic programme with Middlesex University in September 2009, I worked in a Corporate Team facilitating business strategies. I was a mature student entering the BA programme through the lateral route. However, the BA is not my only academic tryst with Middlesex. I completed a Masters programme with the University in Human Resource Development in 2004. I chose the BA through the lateral route as it provides me with an entry into the area of International Affairs, a subject of personal and professional passion for me. My academic programmes with Middlesex have offered me a range of cognitive, analytical and emotional competency tools.
In Middlesex, the learning is driven by the student so that they realise their role as co-creators of their personal destiny. The University however supports and facilitates every effort of the student through a range of exemplary provisions such as intensive study advice, empathetic support services (e.g., counselling service), and a vibrant student life. The Hendon Campus of the University, where I was based, boasts of scholars from every part of the world studying a range of specializations spanning a plethora of core subject areas (Business, Science, Media, etc). The world of work today seeks Employees who possess deep cultural sensitivity, team-working ability, emotional awareness, and appreciation of diversity of opinions, all skills that an academic stay at the Hendon Campus will offer if sought after proactively. Moreover, the Hendon Campus is located in a strategic area in terms of easy access to Central London, essential services (Banks, Hospitals, etc), and government utilities (public library).
Middlesex is not only an academic school for me, but also a school of life, which taught me the power of the individual free-will in terms of achieving self transformation. Let me borrow the famous closing lines from the movie-The Matrix-and tweak it a little in order to describe what Middlesex has done for me –
I don't know the future. Middlesex does not tell me how this is going to end. But it has provided me with a compelling vision of how my life can begin.
And I know my life will be well if I apply effectively what I have learned during my time in the school. All the best to each one of you as you embark on your personal journey of transformation.

Expectations of the experience- The time when I joined Middlesex University, I only knew it through Internet, Consultant and friends. I approached to get admission in different Universities but final choice was Middlesex, because it is one of the recognized Universities, located in North West London, offering various Courses, quality Course content and affordable fee structure.
I was excited about going abroad and my imagination for MDX was like any other University in India for MDX. Some of my friends informed me that it is absolutely different experience than India not only academically but also in lot more aspects and I just wanted to reach there and experience the things myself.
I reached London two months before my Course start in September 2005. I visited the University before the Course started and I fell in love with the place. Some constructions were going on, so, we were not allowed to roam in the whole Campus but still my first impression about the University changed.
Settling into the experience
All the essential information, I got from the various union supporting and volunteering on the Campus during orientation week, which is most important week for any International student to attend it. You will be visiting city, different famous places and University Campus. You will be finishing most important initial formalities during this week such as student Identity card, transportation card and so on.
Also, one will get chance to meet different subject tutors and finalised their subjects in different semester also during this week. One gets enough support where ever one goes – such as International Student Office, Student Counsellor, Student visa office, Tutors, Placement office, Administration. We just need to note down their timing and email address. The best is communication and value of time if you email to any authority for sure you will get response from them within 24 hrs.
The residential experience
Living in London in itself is a diverse experience. Over 50% of International students initially live in the University Halls of Residence. I stayed in Halls throughout my studies. Each student is different and carries his/her own unique culture. Your personality starts moulding here at Halls from a national student to international student. What will fit the lifestyle of one student, won't suit another. But this will bring you close to international students and tell you what you want to know about life in each one.
The social experience
It totally depends on you that how you want to explore local community and International students. One can be part of Student Union, Cultural Events, Organised Parties, Can do volunteer work, be in touch with Local Library and Council Office which are just next door to Middlesex.

“Ever since my primary years at the British School in Nepal, my family ensured that I received only the best education. When I first went to England to study Bachelors in Computing at the University of Greenwich, my dreams of living and studying in London finally came true!
London became my second home and I lived every moment learning, travelling, making new friends, shopping and just having lots of fun. I vowed to continue my education there and I made the right choice by choosing to study at Middlesex University where I received a first class Honours Degree and graduated in 2007.
I have never had such a fantastic learning experience anywhere else than at Middlesex- The excellent support and guidance I received from my lecturers, the world-class study environment and the facilities and abundant opportunities there were overwhelming. I made many ‘international' friends with whom I have bonded for life and upon my graduation, I packed my bags and headed out on a ‘Euro-trip’ which was worth every penny.
My experience at Middlesex has made me independent and confident and there is not a single moment I regret. After I came back to Nepal in March 2008, I wanted to share this ‘experience of a life-time’ with so many other younger people in my country, Nepal and hence have been working since to promote Middlesex Education. I am now the proud owner and Director of Synaptein International Education Consultants, Nepal and through the combined efforts of my colleagues and staff have been chosen as the Middlesex Representative Office in Nepal.
I won’t forget to mention that I met my husband- Clifford from South Africa while I was completing my dissertation for my Masters at Middlesex.

My experiences in London were the most memorable years of my life. When I was in high school I always dreamt to pursue my studies further in a University with advanced learning and in a country of style and fashion, to have an experience to be the best in life.
I still remember the first day when I first arrived at London to study Bachelors degree in Business Management at Buckinghamshire New University with my family, I felt my parents were proud of me being able to go and achieve the experience of change with something new in life. I was really excited during my first year to learn different ways to do things and to be a professional in my field of work.
London became my second home as I spent four straight years completing my higher studies and I lived every moment learning, travelling, making new friends, shopping and just having lots of fun around. I vowed to continue my education there and I made the right choice by choosing to study at Middlesex University where I graduated last year.
My experience at Middlesex has made me independent and confident and there is not a single moment I regret any of those years which passed by me. Therefore, I can, without a doubt, say that my life has been exciting, fulfilling and ‘truly international’ all the way and I vow to live the rest of it to the fullest.

The service provided from the local Office to me was great. My application was studied carefully and every step towards making my application successful was done with care. The story does not end by simply processing the application and making me start my student life at Middlesex, the hospitality which was offered to me was exceptional.
Middlesex University’s Hendon Campus is where I study currently. The University is massive and it has a stylish quadrangle where most of the time apart from lab and lectures are spent. The library is equipped with four floors of books from different sectors. The labs are equipped with high end PCs and MACs. There is a sports and recreational area for students as well.

I am quite happy that I got chance to do my masters from Middlesex University. In earlier months of studies, I had a feeling that I am not in a place where I should be (According to ranking of the University) but later I realised that MY UNIVERSITY is the best University than others which have quite good ranking for example Southampton and Leeds, I have few of my friends studying over there and they are so disappointed with their Professors, University facilities and the environment, while on the other hand after comparing the modules, teachers, facilities, scope and environment of my University with these I found that I was in far much better place than them.
I feel so lucky after completing my studies from the Middlesex University and I always recommend Middlesex University to all my friends (Whoever are interested in studying abroad). I am so grateful to the University and to my brother who told me about Middlesex University. Now, after completing my Masters in Financial Management, I successfully managed to get job as a Manager in a food Company and all credit goes to my University.

“I came to Middlesex University to study my Masters in Design Engineering and Manufacturing Management after my ME in Computer Integrated Manufacturing at Anna University, Chennai, India. I had no problems in choosing the University and course because I knew exactly what I wanted. I wanted a Course combining the aspects of Design Engineering with manufacturing concepts/principles in one Course which other universities normally offer as two separate Courses.
“I settled into the Course straight away as my Engineering background allowed me to grasp certain aspects of the Course very quickly. I found all the staff, both academic and technical, to be very friendly and approachable, they are always very willing to assist you with any problems or questions you may have. I really took advantage of this throughout the entire
Course, especially during my research project. I would particularly like to thank Professor Mehmet Karmanoglu, the Course Director, Dr Dehong Huo, Mike Bradley and Dr Jeremy Lewis for their guidance, understanding, patience, and most importantly, their friendship during my graduate studies.
“The course served as a very good platform for my career as I always wanted to be a successful
Engineer in all aspects and wanted to work in the manufacturing sector. I am currently working with Ford Motors as a Manufacturing Simulation Modeller. One thing I can say is that Middlesex University made my future brighter!”

“At Middlesex University the doors to knowledge are always wide open and the friendly staff help you through. The well equipped workshops with advanced facilities have always inspired me to make and experiment. I am really happy and proud of graduating from Middlesex PDE department, coming to Middlesex was definitely the right decision for me.
“The right blend of design engineering principles and manufacturing management was the main reason for me choosing this particular course. I would like to thank the tutors for very valuable feedback and advice, in particular Professor Mehmet Karamanoglu and Dr Dehong Huo who have helped me a lot while I was studying in the Course and also thereafter.
“The engineering group project was a really interesting module which gave us a good idea on how to carry out a project and the methods and principles to apply to be successful. The visiting lectures on various topics have given me a good knowledge on the latest manufacturing management principles, tools and ideologies to research and learn.
“Currently I am working as a KTP associate with Balfour Beatty and Heriot Watt University, Scotland. My role in Balfour Beatty is to improve downstream manufacturing by mapping the mould design/manufacture/analysis methods, and identify computer aided manufacturing solutions and implements a strategy for knowledge capture from upstream process. The job is really interesting and I can perform well with the skills and knowledge I acquired from my university and previous experience.”

“Before pursuing the Masters Degree I had work experience in both manufacturing and the design field. I chose Middlesex University for my Masters Course because it was one of few Universities offering Course modules which matched my career profile. The support I got from both the PDE teaching staff and the workshop technicians was of high standard which helped me graduate with an MSc MERIT Degree. Middlesex has a very good workshop facility, I would say it is the perfect place for mechanical students to grasp design and manufacturing knowledge.
“Being an international student, I had a good experience throughout the one-year Course. I was impressed with the variety of teaching, group meetings, presentations and all the practical work, it was a fun-filled experience as well as a challenging one. The range of presentations I did throughout the Course really helped me to develop my self-confidence which I realized when applying for jobs and having to give presentations as part of the interview process.
“I am extremely proud of myself as I have gained employment with Ford Motor Company in the role of Manufacturing Simulation Engineer. One reason I got this role was because the course taught me the simulation software WITNESS which was the main requirement for the job. My job in Ford involves analyzing and understanding how the real world system works and modelling the system accurately using WITNESS software. I have to run different experiments and convince the customer which models can provide effective solutions with a genuine reason. I then need to present and explain the results to the engineering and management team.”
“Middlesex has a very good workshop facility - I would say it's the perfect place for mechanical students to grasp design and manufacturing knowledge." - Roshit Nambia

The London Exposure : The one and half years that I lived in London, taught me more than what I had learned in the 21 years of my life in the sanctity and security of my home country. As a boy who belonged to a middles class business family, I had experienced the ups and downs of life, but little did I know that there is a lot more out there beyond the confined walls of my city. India is a country with diverse cultures co-existing together under one roof; in itself it has a lot to learn and explore.
I once overheard my grandfather saying to someone that “I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand”. I had always heard what life is beyond the ocean, I had met my father’s friends and associates from his university in Switzerland, and I was always curious to know how and why they are so different.
As the plane landed at the Heathrow Airport in London, my quest for the answers I seek took off. At first it all looked the same as Delhi, the wide roads, fabulous network of underground railway, enormous parks all around the city. We have all this back home, so why does it appear so different? I asked myself. Is it the uniformity in the architectural designs of houses, is it the more civilized traffic sense in people, or is it the work culture that keeps people occupied?
It was all that and a lot more. India might be diverse in every aspect but all the cultures residing do have some common background. What astonished me about London was the fact that even people with different cultures and lifestyle, with absolutely no common attributes except that they are human, can co-exist and work together for undivided progress.
I pursued M.Sc in Financial Management from Middlesex University, and gained a global exposure with not just academic prospective but a global exposure to different civilizations, lifestyle, traditions and customs.
Among the various decisions I made in my life, I am glad I chose going to London to do my Masters.
As someone said, we shall not cease from exploring, and at the end of our exploring, will be where we started, and know the place for the first time.

The course I am doing is Master of Business Administration Autumn Start 2010 - 2011. Honestly I have had a great experience so far. MBA is really content worthy. It really speaks of the fact that the MBA was started in 1985. Most of the Professors are really good. Professor Anjali Bakhru was just outstanding in her delivery. Professor Chris Rigby, Jatin Pancholi, Louise Boulter, Paul Merriks would really hold the audience together.
Professor Vinaya Shukla is an extremely knowledgeable man and also had comprehensive slides with which assignment and exam preparations became easy. Professor Simon Speller in his own way supports the students through academia and other activities.
The International field trip was a great exposure. Our luck was good that the destination was South Africa. In terms of Marketing the course this is a good trump card. The knowledge and exposure gained, however, on the course is manifold. The course structure is perfect in terms of Assignments, Presentations and Exams. It gives a student a feel of everything. All Professors have been approachable whenever required. All in all it was a great experience. For those who looked at the glass half empty, they lost out.
In terms of accommodation and other facilities, Platt Hall - was simply awesome. It was like home, now a distant memory. If I had the chance I would stay there for another two years. The staff was really friendly. The place was clean, well maintained and best of all other students who did not opt for it knew what they missed out on. I have currently moved to Usher Halls so will give you feedback in a couple of month’s time.
The Library is really good and upgraded with excellent Computer and Sports facilities. The travelling and touring organized by Chrisy Savva and Rowena Bunting was well managed.
To sum up - a great experience with comprehensive studies, a good hostel life, travelling to a different continent after coming to the UK, London city life, and good all around facilities. I honestly will cherish this one year of mine. I have friends at the University of Warwick and University of Lancaster. It is equally comparable to their student life. I sincerely pray that our university rankings go up further in the years to come.

My stint at Middlesex University (LLM in International Business Law) trained me in the corporate and international commercial aspects of law. I was delighted with the academic progress made by me. The course skilled me in many ways through which I honed my Research skills, Presentation skills and ability to make Effective communication.
I am a Dual qualified lawyer practicing in India, Mumbai - As an advocate in India and as a Solicitor of England and Wales. I am currently working with one of the leading Corporate/Capital law firm in India (Mumbai) where I usually advice huge corporate houses on structuring Foreign Direct Investment, investment abroad, corporate and Capital Market Transactions, Infrastructure Projects, Cross Border transactions etc, which, was not possible without my education at Middlesex University, and I believe my success was down to such expert teachers at “Middlesex University”.
I strongly believe that the program structure is so intelligently structured that it gave a good blend of International experience along with an opportunity to understand the research methodology. I must mention that Middlesex University is committed to excel in research and helps student to discover new knowledge through research. I am also a guest lecturer at SNDT Law College, Santacruz – Mumbai teaching students about research methodology and its importance.
It was a lifetime experience to study at Hendon Campus, where I met people from different countries, different culture and background. It was truly an “International Experience” and probably that is why it is recognized as one of the most multination university across the globe.
In a nutshell - Choosing Middlesex means joining a premier institution with world-class academic environment, offering a range of support initiatives to research-active tutors and students.

Middlesex provides lot of support to international students. The Business School has generously provided the resources and support to complete my data collection. I was also provided funding to attend major academic conferences while doing my PhD.
I have also worked as a Lecturer at Middlesex University Business School. I could complete my PGCertHE and could participate in various staff development activities while working as a Lecturer. After I graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) I had a firm idea about what I wanted to peruse in my Masters degree. The MA in Marketing Management offered at Middlesex University suited my needs perfectly.
The structured course content coupled with emphasis not only on contemporary business and marketing models but also detailed study of modern global business practices was a winner for me. The faculty was not only helpful but was greatly experienced in making us understand all the management and marketing concepts with ease.
I had a great time as a student at Middlesex University. I made many friends from all around the world and was exposed to many different cultures. My stay has been invaluable in my development not only as a professional but also as a human being.
The experiences shared in the classroom and outside go far beyond what my words can explain. Middlesex University bestowed on me not only the knowledge but more importantly the confidence to start my own business after my course concluded successfully. I am truly grateful for my stay and experiences at Middlesex University.
I would without a doubt highly recommend everyone to undertake studies at Middlesex University.

Currently working as a Lecturer at H.L. Institute of Commerce and H.L. College of Commerce
January 2009 when I decided to plan to study abroad, UK is considered to be the land of Adam Smith and London is the world’s Financial Hub, so the choice was clear. Middlesex was recommended by a friend who told me this “Excellent university, great facilities and the best student support” which was what I was looking for, the fees are quiet reasonable and there are scholarships too.
The course started in September 2009 and finished in December 2010 in this span I never had stress with studies with the kind of faculties we had specially Michella, Amrit, Alicia and Marie we at their best support to see we had a better future.
A part from that I worked as a “Student Ambassador” as well with a very healthy pay, working as a student ambassador I learned Team work, Leadership, Motivation, and importance of higher education. Being a Student ambassador was a very pleasant experience as I had a chance to work with potential University students and explain them how the university life is, how we as University students manage life there, how easy it is to study at Middlesex. Also I was lucky to work under the “Student Associate” scheme as well; I was placed at Barnet College and St Mary’ School. There I had a chance to try my teaching skills and hence now I can say that it’s that scheme that made me think of being a Lecturer at H L College of Commerce and H L Institute of Commerce.
The course was very new and practical and within no time I was able to write M.Sc under my name plate, thanks to Middlesex University for such a great course, faculty and campus.

My experience at Middlesex University is one that I fondly cherish as it redefined my individuality & personality. Furthermore, a truly international student mix coupled with the advantage of having an AMBA accredited MBA degree left me in a secure position in the global marketplace.
The one factor that makes Middlesex unique is the emphasis on overall development. At Middlesex, the student enters a global walkway of information exchange, networking, analytical thinking, cross cultural exposure, enhanced career prospects and above all a paradigm shift in consciousness that is catalytically instrumental to both, personal and professional growth.
As the Operations Head, India Liaison Service Provider of the Apollo Global Education Network, I am often quizzed on the employment prospects overseas on completion of the respective qualification. Whilst the concern on employment is well-founded, it often has an undertone of assurity which is presumptuous of a fringe benefit that comes along with studying overseas. This however, is not the case and the euphoria ends as soon as reality dawns. The truth of the matter is that the rewards are directly proportional to the efforts deployed.
All I can say is that if you approach your experience overseas with an open mind, eagerness to learn and hunger to succeed, a plethora of possibilities beckon which in many instances are quite contrary to what was initially envisioned.

Born and brought up in the UK, I didn’t have to pay for my education until my Masters. After I completed my A’ Levels, I decided to study the BA (Hons) Business Studies degree and choosing the right institution was a daunting task. I attended open days at various Universities but the facilities provided by Middlesex combined with the professional, yet friendly approach of the tutors convinced me that it was the right University for me. When I look back, I feel that I made the right decision as the degree at Middlesex provided me with a very strong foundation which helped me move into the Masters in Management at The University of Durham.
As part of my degree, I completed a one year work placement at Four Seasons Hotel London which paved the way for my career in the hospitality industry. This facility provided to me by Middlesex University was a very good experience as it helped me add value to my degree and provided me with a professional insight into the operations of the hospitality industry.
I presently live in Mumbai with my husband whom I first met at Middlesex University. I am working with The Westin Mumbai Garden City in the role of E-Commerce Manager. I find living in India is quite challenging but at the same time filled with tremendous opportunities. Thanks to my exposure of the west, I can bring in my experiences and background to contribute to the growth in the hospitality industry here. I personally recommend that every student should have some level of exposure to the West, as it not only enriches you as an individual but also helps you learn the work ethics and professional skills that are required to operate in today’s competitive environment. Also, for those who are as fortunate as me, maybe you’ll find yourself a life partner too!
Finally, the teaching methodology at Middlesex University goes beyond academia. The taught part of the programme only forms a small component of the benefit as a student. The various other elements of the course such as seminars, group and individual presentations, coursework, company visits and on campus recruitment, amongst many others, mentally challenges and stimulates you to outperform yourself and that is what I think is the value add that sets apart Middlesex from the rest.

I wanted to pursue BA [HONS] in TELEVISION PRODUCTION to add another dimension to my education at MIDDLESEX UNIVERSITY. Studying at one of the top University in UK was my long time goal after completing my twelve th grade and the experience which I had at MIDDLESEX UNIVERSITY has been one which I would never forget in my life.
My programme leader was a delight to work for and provided relevant guidance, was very accessible and provided me the opportunity to be involved in more than I ever thought would be possible when I signed up for the course. It helped me to enhance my hidden skills and gave me a great platform from which I could start my future.
I really enjoyed the course and I met some great people who worked in British films like ‘THE KINGS SPEECH’, we had an interactive session with the cinematographer of the movie and it was very useful for our final project. It also helped me to build my confidence and changed my mind about the industry being strictly about who you know. A high point was presenting on the University’s own radio station, MUD FM, which gave me a great live performance experience. I also enjoyed performing in special short film project, ‘Vision Lucida’.
I had a very beautiful campus which I would never forget in my life, it was a peaceful place to study I would definitely recommend international students to study at MIDDLESEX UNIVERSITY & I bet you people will love MIDDLESEX UNI...

Life at Middlesex
My most valued memories of Middlesex University are like a road map, which has helped me prepare for my career and life. They include the challenge of Mark McPherson's Marketing lessons, the many spiritual and truthful life lessons imparted by Jennie O' Connor, learning almost as much out of the classroom (ILEs i.e. Integrated Learning Experience, which was taught outside classrooms into practical environment) as in it.
My most favourite ILE was tour to Italy whereby we had created Marketing strategy for the fashion house. The many life - long friends discovered are cherished (Harish, Frankie, Olga, Rehan, Jennifer, Coleman, Sanika, Vishal & Meena) and most important, spending time with friends all over the world.

I joined Middlesex University, Hendon campus to do my BA in Business Administration. It was a wonderful experience while studying for three years at the Hendon campus.
The first step into the Campus make me feel special as we were welcomed with a well organised and fully informative Induction and Orientation Programme. Soon we made ourselves acquainted with the life at the Campus and made new friends coming from different parts of the World. The special feature of the University has been the quality of teaching which gave us a unique learning experience, supported by the latest teaching tools and technology specially designed for the MDX students. University gave us the Platform to excel in our Academic as well as Professional life.
As I look back to my 3 years in the University, I can say at the end it was “Home away from Home”. In the very first year my friends and I had got so much attached to the University life that we never felt that we are away from our house and family. Banks, food outlets, medical centre and local shops were all close to the Campus.
Standing at the huge stage for the Graduation function was a life time experience. The feel of Success and Pride was in the air all around me. When my friends and I had talked about the 3 years at the campus, we felt as a family member of the Middlesex family.
Today I work as a Management Consultant in my family owned consulting firm. It is because of the MDX experience and the feel of the Professional environment that I experienced at the University, that I am able to enjoy my work.
Thank you MDX Family.

When a child is born, a new life starts. With the passing of time she develops the skills, learns from the experience and starts to explore the life as it is. My skills to understand, articulate and address Business issues, Business Drivers and needs were still raw before coming to Middlesex University. So to enhance my skills and abilities I decided to do MIB (Masters of International Business) from Middlesex University. My father and I were very much convinced by the MIB degree offered in Middlesex. It is one of the best Universities in London and it provided world class business environment. The MIB in this institution provide great opportunities to meet influential figures in the business world at lectures, seminars and events attended by guest speakers.
The MIB program equipped me with all the necessary knowledge, theoretical as well as practical, which helping me tremendously in getting managerial and administrative jobs. This does not apply only to business, as is usually understood by most people, but can also benefit people to get into executive positions in the public sector and government jobs as well. This gives the MIB degree a global appeal and worldwide recognition.
Now as I look back my university days, I really have to wonder where all the time went. I started almost a year back. Yet to me it seems like a last month. I had a few friends but now I have a class full of friends from one we multiplied and tripled. I am grateful to Middlesex for letting us expand across different cultures.
There were university level classes about subjects that I couldn't even fathom. In a year you could have told me I was going to know Hofstede and trompenaar as if they are my very good friends. From India to London then I visited China with my dearest professor Rani .Working on R and SPSS, break-even point accounts and learn how to be a perfect manager made me feel as if I’m professional. I crammed a lot of knowledge into my head in this whole year. All credit goes to our Professors.
I would highly recommend Middlesex University because it is a good gateway to the successful business profession.
Thank you Middlesex University for nurturing me.

“The more extensive a man’s knowledge of what has been done, the greater will be his power of knowing what to do” – Benjamin Disraeli
I am grateful for the opportunity my role has given me to learn. It was my desire to study abroad which will make a difference to my career growth. I felt as if I have gone to the moon and back.
Transiting to student life, resuming studies after ten years of considerable work experience was a challenge and there was a lot to take in, very quickly. My objective for taking up Masters in Marketing Management was to learn and develop accurate and definite knowledge in Marketing and its process, mentored by the expert Professors.
My journey as a student at Middlesex University was remarkably more interesting than what I expected. I was well received by the Middlesex Student Ambassador at the Heathrow Airport and this made me feel very comfortable. Orientation and Induction Program was the most important ‘week not to be missed’, as it introduced me to the London beauty and University Campus which I had to familiarize before the start of my academic life. London is a vibrant city and I must say that there is so much of history and fashion in this place that England had an effect on my lifestyle and showed me a new approach to enjoying and celebrating.
I stayed at Usher Hall which was just opposite to the Campus, which ensured that I was on time to the class irrespective of the weather condition. Having a common shared Kitchen and communal room provided an opportunity to spend time with neighbours from different parts of the world and to understand their different preferences and to try and adapt a different life style. It taught me to be concerned, have respect for each other and above all share students culture from varied nations. My stay in the University halls of residence was a very pleasant one.
Lectures and Seminars instigated me to be imaginative, culturally interested, and to be people oriented as my professors cited real world examples to relate with the theory. Group work played an integral role in developing my cognitive skill and I was able to relate to people at different levels.
Resources at the University such as Learner development Unit and Library helped me evaluate myself and bring forth an improvement in the academic writing style leading to an excellent result in my Masters degree. A week of “Field trip” to Newcastle which was part of the course, gave me an opportunity to attend and visit a range of companies to understand their marketing and communication strategies dealing with critical challenges in their business. I could apply and execute this experiential learning in my dissertation on the topic “An Exploratory study of Student Decision Making in Higher Education and the Effectiveness of Marketing Communications”. The course resulted in enhancing my skills and knowledge theoretically to blend with my work experience.
Being an International student, one requires courage to stay away from our family and friends in our home country. I am proud that I have managed very well on my own in such a safe and learning friendly University. The university provided me with a network to weather all storms. These factors were extremely important to accomplish my aim to finish my MA Marketing Management course.
Studying at Middlesex was a once in a life time opportunity which helped me connect with people from different countries. I am genuinely thankful for the experience Middlesex has provided me in the one year of my studies and the memories will guide me forever.

The Word Middlesex itself makes me feel nostalgic, brings in a lot of memories which makes me crave to start my student life all over again.
Middlesex gave me a slice of University life which was the first time I was experiencing. My Program was intense yet flexible. With a toll of over 110, exhilarating Group discussions, Lab, and talented module leaders, the whole experience was new and rejuvenating. Above all, everybody had a friendly and helpful nature associated with Middlesex, be it an alumni officer or a Program leader, even a staff at the Library. I wouldn't have asked for more.
I must admit that Middlesex University holds a special place in my heart. Due to the Global student environment Middlesex gave me, I have not only made friends from my own place but also from vital parts around the world, with whom I am still in touch with.
Even the places where we spent time with, stays close to my heart like the Central Quadrangle, Library, the Fried Chicken Shop, The student union office, Platt halls and much more. It feel so happy about the fact the University takes efforts to rekindle some cherished moments for old students through its Alumni Office in the form of these events. I am looking forward to take part actively, irrespective that my friends and myself have moved on from our student life.
The experiences we gained through Middlesex University has contributed its part and made us the person we are today.
Our Best wishes for Middlesex in every venture it takes on, Way to Go.

KILL THE SHY WORM
I was just another normal student who had checked into Middlesex University with high expectations. People usually tend to wait for changes to happen without initiation from their own end. I was the same; I was expecting positive automatic transformation to happen having enrolled in what I considered as a renowned UK university and most importantly living in one of the largest metropolitan cities in the world.
I wanted to start my journey with confidence and fun. I was learning to be confident and trying to act this way. When I think of my first day at University, I remember walking into the campus with a smile, hoping that it would boost my confidence, and ease some of my nervousness. It just didn’t work; it is difficult to overcome fear and change our traits overnight but I was happy that I was determined to kill the shy worm within me.
I was aware of the various help and support offered by Middlesex University to international students during their academic tenure, to enhance their personal and academic experience. In spite of being a full time student, I hadn’t used services such as the Learner Development Unit which helps students to improve their academic writing and communication skills, volunteering programs, careers advice, social activities helping students with outings, and cheap tickets for theatres and other tourist destinations. I kept myself restricted to home and university without much outdoor activities. Understanding my introverted nature, I just had a couple of friends throughout my stay and didn’t really care to look for new acquaintances. It is acutely important to pull ourselves out from our comfort zone and to make friends and build contacts as it helps us to grow personally, socially and financially.
Studying at Middlesex University and living in London provides you with an opportunity to get along with mixed cultures and communities. This discreetly helps the student to work coherently as a team, understanding and respecting the values and ideas of students of different cultures. It also provides students with a high level of international exposure. My shy worm outweighed my determination to open up socially and now I bemoan that I have missed things and opportunities which would have enhanced my learning experience.
Middlesex University is a great place with an amicable environment, all you need to do is to have an open eye and mind to everything that comes your way. Very often you need to make your own way by seizing the opportunity where you volunteer to actively participate in seminars, lectures and other valuable services offered by the university. I had failed to understand the importance of the services provided by Middlesex and when asked by my friends if I had used any of these services, I would always throw a lame reason that the course was very hectic to even think of sparing time for any other activity. The reason however reflects inefficient time management from my end and my shy worm to be equally accountable for this. I have missed certain important opportunities nevertheless my learning experience and outcome has been really very good and very productive.

“I learned the value of hard work by working hard”. - Margaret M. Fitzpatrick
Being Structural Engineer in India, I have endeavored to extract a Master degree Program in Engineering from Middlesex University – UK that would fulfill my innovative and inquisitive nature. During my course I studied different aspect on managing engineering problems, and on many occasions, I was faced with many opportunities where I could use my creative sparkle to produce designs as solutions for real issues.
The course allowed me to fine tune myself with a combination of theoretical and practical aspects of Engineering. I have to admit, initially I have struggled with the modules which were totally different from my bachelor’s especially management side of the course but the guidance and motivation from the staff and friends made me grew stronger and stronger day by day.
In time, I understood how to use my knowledge to make my own ideas in reality with hitches. However, I did enjoy the course and I feel a real sense of achievement when I succeeded in the area where I was initially lost. I am proud to say that with lot of hard work and plenty of sacrifice, I successfully graduating this summer.
Looking to the future, well, I am now working as a Structural Engineer in RAMBOLL UK LTD and hope to move forward in my profession.
